Mason Jar Chandeliers
As previously pointed out, my husband and I got married on February 3rd of this year. I’ve been sharing the details and planning of that day. I also want to start sharing some of the planning we have been doing for our reception coming up next spring – a big ol’ BBQ bash.
This past weekend, we decided to take on a project – something that has been on my mind for a while, but not necessarily planned. Aaron reluctantly, but with a smile on his face, joined me in a search for something old to create the hanging component for a mason jar chandelier. We spent at least an hour perusing through the clutter at a local antique mall and then proceeded with our project for the next 6 hours.
In a few days, I will share a full DIY of our project but for now, here are some pics of inspiration where the whole idea started! (we also have some old barn wood planks all set and ready for our next project – making those beautiful plank chandeliers!)
That’s all for now…I’m extremely busy right now with residency interviews but I will try posting every Tuesday and Friday from now on! (Aka I’ll post our DIY project on Friday)

My grandmother lived 95 (almost 96) years full of both struggles and blessings. She was such a strong and courageous woman who always approached life with a positive attitude and an appreciation for the simple things.
She (along with my grandfather) had 9 children, 34 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. To all of us, she is a hero; someone who has continuously set a good example of what it means to be an all around good and genuine person. She will continue to live on in us.
This is a photo of their wedding day. They were married in the Netherlands in 1941. She is wearing a traditional dutch costume and he is wearing a modern suit. I don’t know much about their wedding day and regret not asking her about it.
